What brought you to the field of psychotherapy?
In short, I was thrilled to discover the profession of psychotherapy. It happened while I was preparing for a career in medicine. Lots of similarities with just the right dose of differences for me.
What is your personal approach to psychotherapy?
My approach is best described as integrative & strengths-based.
What could one typically expect in one of your sessions?
My experience is that most folk yearn to feel safe & feel heard. That’s what they can expect during a session with me.
What are the most common issues that people seek your help for?
So far, clients have presented with a whole myriad of concerns. There is never a dull moment.
What are 3-5 nuggets of advice you would give to a young woman in their 20s and 30s as it relates to practicing self-care and taking care of your emotional health?
What I will say about young women in the DC Metro area, many of whom are transplants of sorts, is that ‘finding home’ is paramount. No matter where you go, there you are.
